Celebrating Your Child's Achievements:

Rank Promotions:

Nothing is quite the same as testing and earning a new rank in the dojo. It is a definite recognition of your child’s dedication, consistent effort, and progress in the dojo. Like nearly all people, your child will likely feel a bit of “nerves” when test day arrives (especially the higher the rank, as each test is more difficult than the last).

Our innovative, non-competitive learning environment at Infinite Path Martial Arts is carefully designed to bring out the best in every student. We never ask a child to test unless we are fairly certain he or she is ready to pass the test. Each test and advancement in rank gives your child a tangible example of the rewards of hard work, and his / her ability to achieve worthy educational goals.

To maximize your child’s test experience, the rank promotion should be celebrated. This builds confidence and nurtures a desire for further accomplishments. This is where mom and dad come in. After your child passes his / her test, celebrate the achievement. Tell your child how proud of him / her you are. Take some pictures of your child with his / her new sash / certificate. Do something special. Maybe go out to dinner or for ice cream. Talk about the test (especially his / her strong points).

As part of that special day, we suggest avoiding talk about your child’s weak points or any discipline problems. Help your child bask in the glow of his / her achievement. Any child psychologist worth their salt will tell you that your child’s overall feeling about the test will be overwhelmingly shaped by mom and dad’s response and recognition of the achievement.

As parents, YOU are the most important people in your child’s life!
